We have an onsite
laboratory that enables us to run biochemistry, haematology and
electrolytes on all our patients. Pre-anaesthetic
profiles are run on any animals over the age of eight years old
undergoing anaesthetics, and offered to all younger animals. We
also have facilities to run viral antigen tests on dogs and cats.
Any other
laboratory tests are sent to outside laboratories: we primarily use
IDEXX - the largest laboratory in the country dealing with domestic
animals.
We
have a number of feline and canine blood donors registered with us.
All donors are blood tested and typed.
We keep record cards for our donors to enable us to report on
how well they cope each time they give blood.
All have a full general health profile blood test once a year,
at no charge to the owners. Please contact the surgery if you are
interested in your dog or cat becoming a blood donor.
