Gerard Cashin MVB MRCVS
Equine Veterinary Surgeon

Gerry qualified from the University of Dublin in 1979 and has worked mainly as an equine vet ever since. He also consults in the small animal clinic on a regular basis.

He opened the Ivy Lodge Veterinary Clinic in July 1984, originally in the small cottage, but in 2002 the practice relocated to the large purpose built clinic that you see today.

His interests include horse racing, thoroughbred breeding and farming. He has a special interest in racehorse welfare and owns a retired chaser named 'Straight-On' whom he raced successfully and now rides on a regular basis.

Elisa Best BVSc Cert SAS MRCVS
Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

Elisa joined the practice in May 2005 as our primary small animal veterinarian. She graduated in South Africa in 1993 and has worked in the UK for the last ten years.

She obtained the Cert SAS in 2003, a postgraduate qualification in small animal surgery, currently held by only 162 other UK vets.

Elisa enjoys travelling to far-flung places as well as rock climbing with her husband. She has a cat called Spudney, two parrots called Jimmy and Rosie and a cheeky horse called Gus (pictured here).
